Historical Homestead for Rental in Hood River, Oregon

Nestled in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, StoryBook Glade is a historical homestead available for rental in Hood River Valley. Surrounded by orchards, vineyards, and nearby forests, the property features over 60 fruit trees and an old walnut tree that allows morning light to gleam through its branches.

If you are looking for vacation rental or temporary housing, this 2,100 sq. ft. romantic Victorian home includes 3 bathrooms, hardwood floors, fully-stocked kitchen, wrap-around porch, TV, Wi-Fi, and other modern conveniences. It sleeps 10 comfortably, and all 5 bedrooms have a magnificent view since Mt. Hood graces the skyline to the South… while sunsets beckon over vineyards to the West… and Mt. Adams rises above the orchards to the North.

The property is located within walking distance of The Fruit Company (gift shop, small museum, and picnic tables), Mt. Hood Winery (Oregon’s Winery of the Year in 2016), and the Gorge White House (lunch on the lawn, farm stand, cider tasting, and flower field). Conveniently situated in the heart of the Fruit Loop, it’s just a 5 minute drive to Hood River… 20 minutes from hiking to waterfalls… and 30 minutes from ski slopes. StoryBook Glade is a charming place to renew your spirit and restore a sense of wonder. Come see why this area was selected as the #1 destination in Oregon by Trip Advisor. Testimonials

We stayed at the StoryBook Glade house a couple of weekends ago and it was absolutely beautiful! The house is in great condition, has a lot of character with all of the amenities you need for a weekend getaway, and was big enough for our small family, as well as another family that we were vacationing with. The owners of the house were extremely kind and communicative, which made everything from check-in to check-out very simple and easy. The location is lovely since it's only a few minutes outside of Hood River, but away from the busyness of the town, while being right on an orchard and across the street from a winery (which was a win for the two moms during nap time) 😉 Would definitely recommend!

With the snowcap mountains, orchards and wineries in every direction, this place is a little slice of heaven. And the front porch has enough rocking chairs to make everybody happy while enjoying the views. My only suggestion, is that the side porch would be a perfect spot for a hammock. The inside is equally delightful and very spacious with little touches of luxury throughout. The beds and linens are first class and the Dean and DeLuca coffee mugs are perfect. The house is in a great location, just a short drive to restaurants, windsurfing, skiing and wineries. The pictures truly don't do this place justice but the name does since you feel like you are in an idyllic storybook setting. We look forward to coming back and visiting StoryBook Glade again.

In reading another review for StoryBook Glade, the property was described as a little slice of heaven - we could not agree more. It was truly a unique and amazingly restful experience to stay at this well maintained and charming property. We so enjoyed the different sizes of rocking chairs for reading and gazing at the breathtaking views. There was a nice outside sitting area for meals that our family enjoyed. The owners were very helpful and hospitable. The property was well taken care of. The house was stocked with everything we needed for the two week stay. If provided the opportunity, we would gladly come back.
